June - Georgio and Steven - Ceremony AND Reception @ The Mandarin Oriental, London

Two grooms, an exquisite venue and a very clear vision...  Georgio, an Italian event planner at The May Fair Hotel knows how to plan a wedding and was keen for a discreet and informal coverage of their wedding at The Mandarin Oriental.  There were 130 guests, glitter canons, and more laughter and tears than any wedding I’ve ever shot.  The boys were each walked down the aisle by their mothers and even the registrar was taken aback by the rapturous applause from the guests when the marriage of Husband&Husband was made official.

The guests enjoyed The Mandarin Oriental’s beautiful outdoor space sipping Moet and eating delicious canapés presented on glass boxes lined with petals (very cool), until the heavens opened and the guests took cover in vast ceremony room.  The wedding breakfast was served in the wonderful ballroom which was lavished in coloured light and crystal chandeliers.  The speeches were humorous and heartfelt and the first dance was EPIC.  I left with a warm fuzzy feeling of having photographed the union of two very special people with fantastic friends and family, at a hotel in which the service was first rate.  It was a true pleasure to photograph Georgio and Steven's Wedding.

Some Kind Words

"First and foremost, Sophie’s photographs are absolutely stunning - we just can’t stop looking through them! They capture the essence of our day so perfectly and Sophie somehow managed to be everywhere at once, but never got in the way and was very discreet the whole time. The light and colour is beautiful, even in very difficult conditions such as the dark church or a dance floor filled with artificial light.
Secondly, and just as importantly, Sophie went to a huge effort to fit in and it was a real pleasure spending time with her on our wedding day: it’s a very personal and special time and could easily be ruined by a pushy or socially awkward photographer! Sophie made everyone feel very relaxed around her, which of course makes for much better photos! Her judgement, sense of humour and social skills are exactly what you need in a wedding photographer, and I would not hesitate to recommend Sophie to anyone”.
