Back in 2009 I shot Rosie and Marek’s beautiful winter wedding and 6 years on I’m up in Stratford shooting the baptism of their second son Lukas. It was a beautiful late spring day, all the trees were covered in blossom as the family and friends gathered excitedly. The occasion was particularly special as Rosie and Marek and the boys live on the other side of the world in Singapore. So the gathering of their closest family and friends is quite a rare and treasured time. The ceremony was included in the Sunday morning mass, conducted by the priest in St Gregory’s RC Church in Stratford.
The ceremony was beautiful and conducted with wit and a deep respect for Catholicism. Once the formalities were over the friends and family piled into Ingon Manor Golf and Country Club for food, catch-ups and the opportunity to have lots of group shots taken for the mantelpiece. The day started with religion and ended with friendships. Rosie and Marek were keen to get formal group shots as well as the candid portraits. The whole gang isn’t often together so my brief was go a little heavier on the formal portraits than I would normally, and they’ve come out beautifully, all very relaxed but lots of groups of family and friends to choose from.
