“Thanks so much for photographing our wedding, I’ve got no idea how you do it but they are so beautiful and clever and just fabulous all round - we absolutely LOVE them. We have looked at them together with friends and family so many times already and we’re SO pleased to know that we’ll be able to look at them again and again for many years to come.
We’ve put some of them up on Facebook and many of our friends have commented on how amazing the photos are. Lots of our friends have currently got one of your pictures up as their profile pics.
You were just wonderful on the day, we loved having you there, you were just part of it all, including us girls getting ready and you were never anything other than a guest with a very
important job. I don’t know how you did it, but you seem to have been everywhere all at the same time, and have managed to capture such beautiful moments and so much fun and laughter. The “best men together” moment with the children all doing cartwheels in the background - if I didn’t know better I’d think that some of the pictures must have been staged, there is just such an amazing skill in them with the exact right moment, the detail and the angle all coming together - absolutely magical!!!
So thank you, thank you, thank you! You’ve captured our special day so beautifully, we couldn’t have wished for anything else”.
How I Work:
I am primarily a reportage wedding photographer; I find reportage best suits those looking for an intimate and informal set of images which carry a strong narrative. This style of shooting allows me to create a series of images which tell the timeless story of your wedding day.
On The Day:
The key to my documentary-style wedding photography is to be unobtrusive while creating beautiful images using natural light, capturing the small intimate moments as well as the big bold ones. I dress like a guest and blend in with the group so no one feels uncomfortable or aware that they are being photographed. Of course, I am more than happy for other guests to take photographs too!
Formal Wedding Photos:
I do of course appreciate the need for formal shots and normally include around 8 group shots and about 30 minutes of couple’s shots. I try to take the formal shots as quickly as possible so I can concentrate on capturing all those unscripted moments.
Black & White or Colour:
Though I tell the story of your wedding day as a whole, I look at each image individually when deciding the most appropriate treatment to get the best from it. Your wedding photoswill be a mix of black and white and colour, with a preference towards BW images.
A password protected online gallery will be available within 3-6 weeks for you to view all of your wedding photos.
There are countless options for the presentation of the images. I use and recommend Jorgensen albums which showcase your wedding photos beautifully, and can produce this for you as well as coffee table style books, prints, frames and canvases. Find out about all of SMP Weddings products here.
Some couples choose an engagement shoot to get a little more comfortable in front the camera before their big day. I always try and come up with something fun and different for you to do. I am an experienced lifestyle photographer and love to come up with great locations and creative ideas to make your engagement shoot unique and special. I am based in West Sussex and work predominantly in venues across London, Brighton, Surrey, Kent and Sussex. However, I am happy to travel across the UK and even abroad if required. My wedding photography packages includes travel costs within 100 miles of London. We will agree suitable travel and accommodation costs separately if required.
I have professional indemnity insurance along with public liability insurance. Please contact me if proof of insurance is required.
I always carry at least two top end professional Canon SLR cameras and multiple L series lenses, that way if there is a problem with one of them, I always have a spare.
It's never happened yet, but in the unlikely event that I’m unable to attend your wedding I will do my best to find a replacement for you, and would only turn to known and trusted photographers. Should this happen, you would be kept informed of the situation at all times.
I retain the copyright to the images, however you are free to reproduce the images for friends and family and personal use.
